Posted:

Carnival day is fast approaching! On Wednesday 20th August 2025, Cromer Carnival will fill the town with colour, music and family fun. We're here to get you there, with loads of options for getting into town without the stress of getting parked.

Our handy online guide will help you plan your day by bus, and get home safely after the carnival parade in the evening.

Free Park & Ride shuttle from A148 parking

As part of our sponsorship of Cromer Carnival, we are delighted again to be providing free courtesy buses from the parking fields on the A148 (near Lidl) into the Town Centre all day and late into the evening.

Buses will pick up from the layby beside the car park entrance dropping off at the carnival fields and Beach Road (for Town Centre). Please note that from 17:50 onwards buses run to and from Cromer Rail Station only!

A £10 per car contribution towards Carnival costs is requested, all funds go straight towards the Carnival to help with costs of keeping this very special annual event running.

Getting to Cromer Carnival by bus from Norwich & Aylsham

From Norwich, our frequent X40, X41, X44 and 44A services operate up to three times an hour to Cromer. These services drop off at Cromer Bus Station, right in the heart of the town centre, then go on to drop off at Westcliffe Avenue which is right opposite the main carnival field entrance. X40 and X41 buses are direct, with journeys times under one hour from Castle Meadow.

From Aylsham, use either X44 or 44A from Aylsham Market Place, or faster X41 buses from Aylsham Tesco.

NEW late evening buses mean you can get home after the parade! Buses run from Cadogan Road (opposite the Bus Station) at 20:03 and 22:13 returning to Aylsham, Hevingham, Marsham, St Faiths and Norwich City Centre. Two high-capacity buses will run on each of these journeys so there is plenty of room for everybody.

Getting to Cromer Carnival by bus from Holt, Sheringham and The Runtons

Frequent 44 buses run all day from Holt, stay on the bus at Sheringham where the bus changes into either an X40, X41, X44 or 44A which continue to Cromer. Additional buses from Sheringham to Cromer run as Coasthopper CH1 and all buses stop at caravan and camping parks along the coast on their way!

After the carnival parade, buses run from Cromer Bus Station at 20:20, 22:50 and 23:50 returning through The Runtons to Sheringham and onto Holt!
