Sanders Coaches Ltd are looking for three experienced PCV engineers with excellent leadership and organisational skills to lead our workshop teams responsible for maintaining our fleet of buses and coaches. Vacancies are available at each of our depots in Holt, North Walsham and Norwich.
Engineering Workshop Supervisor
As Engineering Workshop Supervisor you will supervise all engineering activity within the workshop at the depot you are based at. You will be responsible for the provision of clean, reliable and compliant vehicles to meet operational requirements.
You will need to keep a close eye on resources, working within a budget to ensure maximum efficiency and output, whilst monitoring parts and material usage and cost.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be required to keep all fleet vehicles maintained inline with the company and DVSA standards including preparation for annual MOT and scheduled safety inspections.
Essential criteria
-Hold a Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification
-Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
-Have a strong work ethic and be adaptable to change

-Be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
-Embrace company policies, procedures and systems
-Have good organisational skills, being able to plan and prioritise the required work
Principle duties
1. Ensure that all company vehicle maintenance and servicing is managed and carried out within the target parameters, ensuring compliance to Company, DVSA and legislative requirements.
2. As an Engineering Workshop Supervisor you will identify and resolve day to day engineering issues, providing updates and escalating key issues or concerns to the Engineering Manager.
3. You will engage/liaise with the operational department through effective communication on matters of vehicle availability and vehicle maintenance requirements.
4. To ensure that standard policies and procedure are adopted within the depot with regards to vehicle maintenance and health & Safety.
5. Supervise the maintenance and servicing of the fleet ensuring vehicles comply with the Company and statutory requirements.

7. Develop and motivate the Engineering team, allocate scheduled and unscheduled work to achieve maximum workshop efficiency.
8. Ensure the availability of vehicles in line with operational requirements.
9. To ensure optimum management of stock usage, accurate and timely processing of parts acquisition and warranty claims.
10. Maintain depot plant and equipment in line with Company policy and current regulations.
11. Maintain records for all aspects of engineering including via the electronic vehicle management system. Liaise pro-actively with the company Engineering Records Officer to ensure maintenance records are kept in accordance with DVSA/Company requirements.
12. To ensure that the engineering team work in a safe manner, adhering to the company’s Health & Safety requirements and the Health & Safety at work act.
13. To ensure all work areas are maintained in a safe, tidy and clean condition.
14. Carry out random vehicle inspection and repair audits in order to assess quality standards and where necessary participate in manual vehicle inspection and repair tasks.
15. To attend/participate in training activities as deemed necessary by the Company.
16. Undertake driving duties as directed by a Company official in accordance with the post holders driving licence entitlement.
17. Carry out other duties within the post holder’s capabilities as directed by your Line Manager or Company official which are commensurate to this post
